Our Programs
Casa - Kindergarten
Our Junior and Senior Kindergarten (JK/SK) classroom offers a comprehensive range of Montessori activities, thoughtfully designed to provide children with the strongest possible foundation for Grade 1. With an added emphasis on literacy and numeracy, our senior Casa students thrive in a stimulating, hands-on environment that makes learning enjoyable and exciting—helping them look forward to each day at school. This enriching experience lays the groundwork for long-term academic success and a lifelong love of learning.
Throughout these two formative years, children begin by reading and spelling phonetic words, then progress to more complex, non-phonetic words. They explore sentence structure, grammar, journal writing, and complete small projects at their own developmental pace.
In math, even in JK, children are introduced to concepts like adding and subtracting 4-digit numbers using Montessori materials that foster true understanding rather than rote memorization. As they are ready, students move on to more advanced operations such as carrying, borrowing, multiplication, and division.
The enriched curriculum also includes geography and science, offering young learners meaningful insights into the world around them. Parents are often amazed by the fascinating facts their 4-year-olds bring home and share!
At every stage, we encourage children to reach their full potential—so they leave for Grade 1 confident, capable, and filled with a strong “Yes, I can!” spirit.

Casa - Preschool
Our Preschool Casa class offers a full Montessori experience for children aged 2½ and up. Through a wide variety of engaging activities—including practical life, sensorial, language, math, and culture—children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow. At this stage, learning is joyful and exciting, and with each success, their confidence blossoms, laying a strong foundation for the steps ahead.
Every child progresses at their own pace under the guidance of our experienced Montessori educators. While enjoying purposeful play, they’re building essential skills like concentration, hand-eye coordination, fine motor development, and independence. Children begin learning phonetic sounds to prepare for reading and writing, explore numbers, and often take their first steps into addition and subtraction—always without pressure and with just the right amount of encouragement. At Shining Light, children become eager, confident learners ready for the journey ahead.

Toddler Program
Our Toddler class blends the best of Montessori and Early Childhood Education principles, providing a fun, stimulating environment for children 18 months and up. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and smaller group sizes, each child receives the individual care and attention they need to thrive. Toddlers enjoy daily routines like circle time, group songs with actions, and a variety of activities that enhance both gross and fine motor skills. Arts and crafts projects help spark creativity, while they learn important social skills like sharing and interacting with peers.
Teachers spend dedicated time engaging with children during this critical stage of language development, fostering communication and connection. Music classes further enrich their learning experience. Parents often share how they see noticeable growth in their children's development after just a few weeks. It’s the perfect start to a lifelong love of learning.
